#8 skillet w/ no heat ring. Handle looks wide to me, maybe just my not knowing much yet. Does anyone know anything about this or are they a dime a dozen.

Looks like unmarked Wagner. Or a copy of a Wagner. Does it feel heavier than it ought to?

It's a little hot right now but it seemed to be an average weight best I recall, could be heavy side though. I deal w/ pottery a lot and gotta watch fakes/reproductions, didn't know that about cast iron.

Sometimes, when copies are made using an actual skillet as the pattern, the markings are removed by scraping them from the sand on the inside of the mold cavity. This has the effect of enlarging the cavity, meaning more iron is needed to fill it, thus the copy is unduly heavy. Yours is probably an older smooth bottom unmarked Wagner, which may have pre-dated having "10 INCH SKILLET" or the like incised on it.

I appreciate your input, does that mean the small skillets I have are Wagner that say 6 1/2" skillet right on them.
