i changed my anodes out today because I thought the old 18 gauge swiss cheese looking ones were wore out. I put 1/8th inch plate steel in there, hooked it up just like the old ones, and nothing. It showed 12 volts running but no amps. I checked all connections, changed out a few and still nothing. I put the old ones back in and "Bingo", it's working. Does anyone know why the plate steel wouldn't work?
