Heat ring names

What is the correct name for the heat ring on modern Lodge Skillets? It is cut into the skillet instead of being raised.

Not sure if it's the correct name but I have heard it referred to as an "Inset" heat ring.

I have heard it referred to as incised heat ring. Sorry Derek .I posted about same time you did.
