Should I Be Concerned with This Griswold 665?

This one is for sale at a local flea market. I have one of the skillets and the texture is very smooth. The one in the picture at the flea market has a extremely rough texture. Any ideas on maybe it being a reproduction? Or would Griswold put something out this rough?

Polish grinding was accomplished with the pan affixed to a rotating mechanism to which a spinning grindstone head was applied. Note that a pan with dividers would make that process impossible.

Doug, that makes sense but the 665 that I have is considerably smoother then the one pictured. That is what is giving me pause. The one pictured has the texture of a newer Lodge piece. Should there be that great of a difference between the exact same piece?

IMO, not on pieces produced in Erie, PA. Perhaps the one pictured has pitting from previous rusting.

I paid $50 for mine I believe, which is a steal. They want $175.00 for this one. I have seen them for over $250
