Pan ID help

Being a sucker for an apparent deal, I picked up this ugly Betty for $4.

After searching I can't seem to do an Id. I thought the distinctive handle would be a clue. I know it's not clear but it has the numeral 8 at the top of handle.

Thanks for the help

Gate marked pieces are, generally speaking, hard to identify. However, for 4 bucks, I would have jumped on that as well...it's a cool looking piece.

Steve D,
After seeing your post I had to go check the cabinet to make sure my pan was still there. It is, but the resemblance is uncanny right down to the X molders mark.

I doubt that we will ever determine who the maker was.

thanks for the replies,

Any clue to vintage? With what appears to be sulfur pitting I would think pre 20's?

$4 for that griddle is not bad at all.nice looking and usable, the best thing is later on you can get your money back if you decide to sell it.
