Re: Antique Mall Shopping

I've seen a few 10's for less than $300... but not often. they tend to be in the 200-275 range pretty regularly.
The lambs can be found for less than $100 usually. especially if it isn't marked...

Re: Help with an Heirloom Aluminum Pan

uploading pics on this forum is kind of limited... I would suggest using one of the free online picture hosting sites like Imgur... upload your pics there and then just post a link to either...

Re: Oval Dutch Oven

I think in the old vernacular you would be looking for an 'oval roaster'... and there are other brands besides griswold and wagner that might be found at less cost... although probably any of the old...

Re: How to Season Fine Details?

yeah, they are much different from a normal qtip... wooden stick of various lengths and thicknesses and 4 or 5 different size tips. I've used them on the bail attachment of dutch ovens... depending...

Re: How to Season Fine Details?

I bought this bag of 'industrial' qtips at one of the home improvement stores (home depot or lowes) I think you can order it online and have it shipped.
these are handy on waffle irons and things...

Wagner 'D' French Roll Pan - Wideband

since there isn't a 'yellow' book of wagner gem pans like there is for griswold... hmmm, what color should the wagner book of gem pans be?...

obviously this is a stylized logo wagner ware 'D' gem...

Re: Corn Stick Unmarked

looks like lodge.
lodge was known for 'buttons and bars' for styles of leveling 'feet' on the bottoms of corn stick pans.

Kind of Unusual Lodge Double Skillet Set

This has been a long term project. I stumbled across the top skillet at a local place a few years ago and since it isn't marked the guy sold it to me for like $10... I did some research and realized...

Re: Evaporust

I suspect all of the pieces produced some smoke... since that's kind of what polymerizing fats/oils is... breaking down of the oil.. its just that you didn't happen to catch the other pieces 'in the...

Re: Evaporust

I'm with you... I think evaporust has a pretty distinctive odor. (smells similar to that CLR cleaner).

Re: ID Help for You Experts

look up Birdsboro.
this pan fits with the characteristics found on known birdsboro pans... the odd font of the size on top of the handle, smooth bottom with small number at 6 oclock..

Re: Old Pot

looks like a scotch bowl... but its hard to tell the depth in your photos. the bends in the bail are where it would have originally had a wooden handle.

Re: Cracks

4th series erie is the 'artistic' erie and was only made in sizes 5 and 9.

hard to say on the cracks question. I think most are from 'rough handling'... drops, banging against another pan, etc. ...

Re: Anyone Got Any Thoughts on This Unusual Lid?

other than the odd section under the handle it seems to be fairly well cast and finished... any thoughts as to what it was intended to sit on?
