Re: Painted?

Lye will also remove paint. I have had a few that had to have both lye and electrolysis to get it all off.

Re: Unknown #15

Great price. I came across one last week, better casting than the original post. You could clearly see the 16 on the handle. Seller was asking $250 for it.

Re: New Battery Charger Recommendations?

Shumacher makes one, but I have had quality issues with them. Took 3 trips that got one to work out of the box and that one only lasted a year or so.

Re: From Chicago

Good luck in Freeport. I haven't found much there. Keep going west on Rt 20. There are a couple of places you might have some luck.

Re: Teapot Cleaning Question

It will rinse away, but it will take a bunch of water to do so.

Re: Help Identifying #10 Skillet

This ne is interesting. The bottom looks like an unmarked Wagner. The top, an old Lodge.

Re: Iron Star in Blue Mound Ill

A quick update. I dropped by the store yesterday. She has even more iron now and accepts checks. The prices are negotiable.

While I was digging, I found a Martin skillet #14. I've never seen...

Re: Flea Market Report 3/3/2018...

I've noticed that almost all of the #10 Wagners I've seen have been warped. It took me forever to find a flat one.

Re: Iron Star in Blue Mound Ill

I have been there several times and the inventory is huge. The prices are high, but you can probably work a deal. The lady that runs the place is very nice.

Most of the items are pretty common,...

Re: Seasoning Coming Off Pans

I find that if I have tough crud in a skillet, boiling some water in it and using a plastic Lodge scraper does the trick. No seasoning damage.

Re: Before and After - BSR No. 14 Camp Oven

Re: My BSR Cornbread Skillet Rescue

And that's what it is for me also. I love taking an old cruddy, rusty piece of history and restore it to it's former glory. Great job!

Re: Unmarked Wagner Question

Yesterday I was digging through the shop in Blue Mound, IL and came across what seemed to be an unmarked #9. It didn't even have the "XX Inch Skillet" on the bottom, but everything else in its style...

Re: Gem Pan Seasoning Tips Needed
