Is this some of your 1st vintage cast iron? If you're used to Lodge's current product line (pebbled surface) then I can see why this would look foreign.

Interesting. I guess I assumed with such a unique name they were affiliated.

Looks like the engine company is headquartered in MI, but is 'only' 80+ years old, while the hollowware company...

Mainly a small internal combustion engine company these days, but in their history they made hollow ware (skillets). One I received is in the Lye tank, forgot to take a picture.

Not completely certain if a patent is necessary to make your own skillet, so I *guess* it's possible that even without a patent for a skillet, you could produce...

In addition to the charger, I'd get something with more surface area than rebar. It will get gunked up really fast.
