needless to say, since that booklet was created and handed out by the manufacturer of Swans Down cake flour... the key to a perfect cake was to use good ingredients... specifically swans down cake...

bought an auction lot that included these old promotional cookbook pamphlets... the two older ones are from 1927 - 1928... the 'aunt sammy' is from the dept of Agriculture when they did a radio...

wouldn't surprise me for the irish to mark it with a hand with 5 fingers... would need to see other sizes from the same maker to see if they used that identifier for all of them.

there was a time when lodge was making 'custom' griddles that fit certain specific models of stove... I know some where GE stoves.. .not sure if others.

my understanding is that the base is iron and the handle is iron but the ribbed parts are referred to as 'white metal'... some sort of soft alloy that has a melting point much lower than iron....

there was a 19 high base that sold at the last dinkys auction... however after everyone was looking it over during the preview it looked like someone had ground or milled one of the paddles, I guess...

I see these pretty regularly in my area... appear to be erie copies... but they always have the two letters on either side of the rib on the bottom of the handle. I've seen them in sizes 7 and 8......

its a dutch oven lid on a skillet... the basting dripper pattern is similar to 'eclipse' made in St Louis (the markings look similar to Ozark, except for that dripper pattern.
