Re: Wapak with Gate Mark?

Wapak Chicken foot pans are silently commanding a lot of attention and money. Not as much as the medallions, but they are cool pieces.

This recast, although not beautiful, is really neat in its...

Re: Looking for Information on an Ikea Dutch Oven

I read your original post too quickly and missed the part about age. Sorry about that! Glad you found it.

Re: Early Griswold Dutch Oven Lid

Agreed. I think the earliest Erie lids were flat with one number at 6 o'clock. The earliest bottoms would be the size number at 6, and "Erie" at 12. Sound accurate?

Re: My Latest Haul

Yeah, I was pretty stoked to see all the Erie. I really like to restore and then move the stuff along, but my worry is that I might keep all these Erie! My plan was to only collect series 1 and 2,...

Re: Looking for Information on an Ikea Dutch Oven

I'm not sure there will be more information than what is on the bottom. It will work just fine, I'm sure!

My Latest Haul

After purchasing that 20 "prison" skillet and other items, I went back to pick the rest of the guy's cast iron collection. I wound up buying it all.

Re: Early Griswold Dutch Oven Lid

From my understanding, anything with the P/N is "newer" than the lids without. I've also noticed that the lids that are older are flat. Yours has a "dome" to it. I have narrowed down that the lids...

Re: I Need Help Identifying Skillet

To me, it looks like an unmarked Favorite. The thicker, outside heat ring plus the reinforcement on the handle nudge me in that direction.

Re: 20" Skillet

I don't think they were made in prisons at all, from what I have read. I believe that they were a southern casting.

Yeah, it is HUGE. I have almost stripped it with EasyOff, but not totally, yet.

20" Skillet

I've posted this in a few places but thought you might enjoy it here, as well. I came across this huge 20" skillet the other day. Often referred to as a "prison" or "penitentiary" skillet, this guy...

Re: R & E Manufacturing Co. Gem Pan

Great piece! Love the history. I used my Waterman Gem and Erie muffin pan the other day and they worked like a charm. Keep on cooking!

Re: “Faith, Grace, Mercy, Truth.” Waterman Waffle Iron, 1853

Thanks! This has turned me on to Waterman. I have bought another regular gem pan but will be on the lookout for the matching triangle, circle, oval gem pan, as well.

Re: Wagner Sidney #7

Is it possible the heat ring was ground off? I don't remember seeing a smooth bottom for that age?

Not sure I have come across a slant logo without heat ring yet. Although I haven't been doing this that long.
