Barstow Stove Gem Pan...with wire handles

Picked this up today at an antique show. Most of their cast iron was on the high side, but not this. They had another very large one without handles, also Barstow, that I didn't get. Really though about a couple of goose neck tea pots that I might go back for. Didn't think to take pictures of the tea pots.

Has anyone seen handles like this on a gem pan? They are steel.

I have had two gem pans with heavy wire handles. One was a french roll pan and the wire handle went from one handle to the other in a broad loop. I don't know if yours and mine were a factory done thing or someone later added them on. It would make sense for high usage like in a commercial bakery.

That seems logical, Steve.

Looking at the bottom and at the well formed shapes, I'd guess factory but have no idea.
