Hello from Illinois

Postby CKirby » Tue Feb 12, 2013 7:31 am

My father was a butcher and he left a cast iron kettle that I believe he used in his butchering business. It has a number 6 on the bottom as well as the foundry name of D. R. Sperry in Batavia, IL It is rusty but no holes or cracks that we can tell. It has a handle and a four-legged stand and is 26" wide. We've researched some but there are so many types, sizes, and conditions of kettles, we're not sure of its value or usefulness. Any help from the experts would be appreciated. I have pictures and will work on attaching them here.

I see a similar-sized #7 went for around $200 on eBay recently.
