I am unsure about the best way to remove the rust from this since a lot of the plating has come off. I read on here that nickel plated iron shouldn’t be put in the e tank if it has already been compromised. What’s the best way to restore this? Also, who is Dobel & Griffey?

Electro may or may not affect the remaining plating. If unsure, you can use a 50:50 vinegar soak (30 minutes at a time max.) and 000 or 0000 steel wool. These were apparently available in lot quantities customized with a store name for promotional purposes. The only search result for those names in combination is another of these skillets.

I've had good luck with evaporust on plated pieces with areas of surface rust... then wash, dry and wipe with mineral oil to prevent the rust from coming back in the areas where the plating is worn away.
