Default Help, Opinions on These Pieces.

i'm a new member who has 4 cast iron pans, one of which i use nearly everyday to cook in. my neighbor was giving away 3 pans and would appreciate any help in identifying these 3 pieces. thanks for any help. the first two are of the first pan. all markings i see are "3 notches" around heat ring and the number 3 on bottom.

the last 3 images are of second pan and the markings are "10 1/2 or 10 1/8 in." and No. 7 and what appears to be an X.

the third pan is just like a round flat griddle type with no visibile markings. the underside of it is really rough feeling, in the sense of not as smooth as the cooking surface. i can upload pics if wanted. thanks!

These are from two of the most commonly seen brands of a group of several 20th century makers who sold unmarked pieces. See if you can spot yours in this page created especially for the purpose of IDing them.

It's a marker to help identify automated molding patterns that were suspect of producing defective molds. A screw was drilled into the relatively soft aluminum of the pattern.

thanks for the replies, Doug D. and Sean D. very helpful! i live in a small 1 bedroom apartment, so these will hang up on my kitchen wall (already done--see pic). i like the fell and look of them hanging. I will continue to pick up some pans, if the time is right and the price to slowly add to my collection. thanks again! Happy Independance Day!
