Griswold Turks Head Pans #140 and #240

That's a great job cleaning it! Ready to do another one lol. They are not fun to clean, but the satisfaction after it's done is great.

I have a newer one, Lodge I think and it was a real pain to clean.
It was rust covered and only cost $3 but I do not know if I would ever buy another if it had rust.

yeah. I buy those little stainless steel brushes in 3 packs... and this clean up 'used up' one of them... those odd shapes on both top and bottom, all those little grooves... I'm ready for some nice flat griddles or skillets now.

Serious PIA! I don't start on gem pans unless I have allot of time to spend. The last waffle iron I did made me love cleaning heavily crusted skillets lol.

I just picked up a Griswold 240, it's the first gem/muffin pan in my collection. I kind of took a chance on this one as I don't know much about them yet.
It sounds like I am in for a real treat restoring it.

electrolysis for sure for the rust... but even after electrolysis I typically rub the item down with steel wool (usually a couple different grades, coarse to fine)... and these pans are hard to do that to... but they are beautiful when finished. If you look in the books (blue or yellow) the 240 is the more difficult to find and more valuable... so your gem pan collection is off to a very good start.
