electrolysis for stainless grill grates

Stainless steel will rust. It's called stain less steel and not rust free or stain free for a reason. Just sayin................

Yes stainless steel will rust if you increments the team temperature to 10000 degree and add oxygen
:icon_rofl: at normal temp and usage won't, the grill on my BBQ pit has 20 years and still haven't rust

It's probably cheap stainless steel, whatever it is, it's rusting. The electrolysis tank knocked a little off but not much. I put the wire brush on the drill motor and it's shiny again. Thanks for responding.

Having worked in the chemistry department of a nuclear power plant for 32 years, I might know something about the corrosion properties of various alloys of stainless steel. Then again, I may not.

What specific alloy of stainless steel are you referring to, Edgar?
