Default Speed Seasoning

Just watched this video on YouTube, (I know, I know) and wondered if anyone has tried this and could vouch for or against it. Maybe without all the paper towel sloughing though...

I don't know why these youtube guys can't just get to the point in a minute or two. On the surface, it seems plausible. My concern would be durability. Save some time, perhaps, but if it flakes off and you have to do it over a more traditional way, you haven't gained anything.
