Cooking in Cast Iron Rule #3

Is this "Pre" or "Post" to rule #6? Can't wait to see all the replies...OOPS...Need to have patience. Actually, I have patience when cooking in C.I. It's the cleaning and seasoning that ware me out...can't wait to get either of those finished.
