Cooking in Cast Iron Rule #9

Since this came to mind as a kid, this was textbook my mom when making French toast. Throw it on and walk to the other room to look out the window. For years my brother and I would tease her about our golden black French toast.

Needless to say it was very soon after a few of those Saturday mornings I decided I'm going to learn to make it and use the stove. And I've been learning how to cook things from then on. That may of been my moms master plan of getting out of weekend breakfast :-D

Steve,

You may want some more sleep on Saturday morning, but never tell your hungry 3 yo to go fix their own breakfast. They will.

The rest of the story: The skillet was on a front burner. The bacon was on the counter and an egg was on the table. The bread was in the toaster. She was too short to see the top of the stove where a back burner was red. It was her dragging a kitchen chair across the floor that woke me up again. So I helped.
