A friend had a few small C I skillets in their shed and said I could have what I wanted, most were imports but this unmarked one looked interesting. It has a decent casting and is in good shape. As a new collector of C I this forum is invaluable. Thanks.

Looks vollrath to me. Doug D.will probably know for sure.

I think you are right, I found pictures of vollrath on ebay and except for the marking it is identical. Thanks.
To bad it's unmarked.

Unmarked Vollrath. Some have just the number sideways on the bottom, and I wasn't too sure myself if these had the number on the top of the handle, but, as with fully-marked Vollrath, they do. The other Vollrath "tell" is that handle shape. See how the end, from the top, looks "stretched"? It's subtle.

I have a #3 just like it, except it has the 3 and underscore, no name. I like Vollrath, sounds like a good name for a metal band. My #10 has the name on it, it looks sharp. I had a unnamed #7 that I gave to my uncle, who is now my fierce competitor when we go iron hunting.
