Before I ruin a pot, made in Korea, for lead smelting....

Just wanted to throw this up here to make sure, those of you in the know, will let me know if I'm about to do something stupid.

Picked it up for $5.00 just to melt some lead and recast it. The pot was being used by the seller to soak parts in lacquer thinner and cleaning solvents, so I wouldn't want to use it for food anyways.

I'm going to etch it with "lead use only" after I'm done so there will never be a future mistake made.

So, whatcha all think? cheap throwaway pot?

Appears reasonably well-made, but the "Korea" part pretty much takes it out of candidacy for the collector protection program.

Good Man!! :icon_thumbsup:

Thanks, but I can't take credit for the idea.

I picked up some ladles and a 7 stick cornbread pan from craigslist. They were all etched like that. They were advertized as "lead only" so I knew what I was getting.
