Under the Paint

Hey look, a foreigner!

This is a DO (with matching lid) that I bought a couple years ago, and finally am getting around to dealing with. Unfortunately, it's an import. Fortunately, it was cheap ($8 if I recall correctly) and it should still be a good user.

Also, I discovered that a fine mesh stainless steel strainer will skim loose paint off the top of the e-tank nicely...so not a total loss.

So, this actually ended up being a good practice piece for me. It was painted, and hid a bunch of gunk underneath. But, when I saw the Taiwan stamp, I decided to experiment with cleaning, and be more aggressive with the wire brush because there's no harm done if I mess it up. Turns out that I was being too gentle, and more aggression helped this restoration come out pretty well. So, good job imported piece for teaching me :)

Here's some before and after pics.
