Ghosted Pans from the Auction Today

there were a lot of griswold and wagner pans at the auction today... the spider logo went for $2100... a 13 went for only about $1000... a #6 dutch oven like the one Wally found a few weeks ago (with trivet) sold for $1100. Also a very nice single spout marked W.C. Davis pan and a beautiful sperry... but I didn't get any of those... instead I bought some oddities. a nice smooth marion pan that has an Erie ghost... very high quality casting. and an odd marked Wapak 7 with what appears to be an Erie ghost and an arc Wagner ghost...and other stuff... and the bottom seems thick for a 7... kind of heavy... but perfectly flat, no pitting or warping... and the inside is like glass.

Amazing what people are willing to pay. Just hope they preserve these historical treasures.

The Wapak is very interesting with the ghosts. I'll have to research the Marion. That one I haven't read anything about. Thanks for giving me something to check out.

I've kind of started a collection of ERIE ghost marked pans... wapak, tecumseh and marion. The tecumseh and Marion are really nice castings... and obvious erie copies. the wapak is just strange... but very smooth where it counts.

there was a griswold slant erie 9 at the auction that I was interested in... that also had a 'griswold's erie' ghost... but I think it went for about $125 or so... more than I wanted to pay for it.
