Quartzsite swap meet 2016

I spent a couple of hours at the swap meet with my daughter and granddaughter. The little one made her first negotiation for a better price today, it was a proud moment for me. Here is what came home in my trunk.
The big skillet lid with the tab handle is a mystery to me, the only mark I see is a 10 underneath. It's a very fine casting but the inside surface is completely smooth, maybe the lye will reveal something more.

I was really happy to find this camp oven. I already had the lid, I think they belong together but I have no idea who made it?

Wow you made off with a good bunch of iron there Bonnie. Is that a hinged skillet I spy in the upper center? Nice

I think it's the Wagner 5 star, it has that wavy handle. I won't know for sure until it's cleaned up. I found a Wardway, a McClary,a National, some BSR's, Renfroware, raised number lodges and some Wagners. I passed on a lot of overpriced iron.

Thanks for the info Jack. I am wondering now, after looking at that page if the tab handled skillet cover might be BSR also. It has a raised 10 on the inside of the lid. I think the big DO might be a BSR also, I will know more after I clean some of the crud off. I picked up the two super rusty DO's in Yarnell for $1 each. One of them is a Wagner round roaster, I think it might be to far gone.

Thanks, my fingers are already getting sore. I bought another button hinge Griswold this morning from a girl here in town. It's really crusty and it's smaller than the one I have. It's a mystery what it says on it. It has the lattice pattern inside so I don't think it's a Selden & Griswold but I am secretly hoping it is. The seller says she has lots more iron. :-D

Jack, it's either feast or famine with iron. My lye tank has been empty for a long time and this week I am finding all kinds of iron. I have the two Lodge pans in the oven now getting ready to season. I think one of them was originally nickel plated but it is so worn off I don't think it will be noticeable after I season it. The other has a gate mark but it is a really nice pan, lightweight and perfectly flat.

Here are the Lodge-ish pans. I think the one on the left was originally brown enamel on the bottom, it looks like someone tried to remove it with a wire wheel. The cooking surfaces look pretty good.

Bonnie,
I thought the raised number pans were too old to be enameled but what do I know. Do you really think they would enamel the bottom and not the sides of a pan? That would be unusual.

Last week brought home a raised number (#7) pan and believe it is early Lodge but when I got it cleaned up the side wall was cracked from top to bottom. Why doesn't that ever happen with a 3 notch, Made In USA, easy to find pan?

Jack, I am not even sure if they are Lodge, other makers also used the raised number I think Martin did? I am not exactly sure what happened with the outside of the one but I am glad they spared the inside. These two Lodge looking skillets were really cheap so I grabbed them. The ones I am most excited about are still in the tank. I will take a peek today. I was able to take a look at the button hinge waffle and it's a #7 no Selden.

I took the McClary skillet out for a look this morning. I think it will clean up nicely but it needs to go back in for a little longer. Here is the picture, it is the first Canadian skillet that I have found.

This one surprised me. This is the red lid from the above picture after an overnight soak in vinegar and water. I thought it was fire damaged, then I suspected rust mixed in with some Sedona mud. I think it's going to clean up well but it still needs a soak in the lye.

I was going to say that, when viewing the first photo, fire damage did cross my mind. Minimal, but that's the color of it.
