I picked up an unmarked dutch oven with a lid and when I was seasoning the lid I noticed that the inside of the lid was enameled (black). I was wondering if anyone else had one like this or did I find a rare piece.
I did not notice the enamel until after the lye bath because both the lid and the dutch oven were pretty messy. Any info would be helpful... Thanks Sorry, no photos at this time... |

I bought a Griswold #8 with a matching lid - that is enameled, so it's not unheard of. Sometimes it's very difficult to see any markings through the enameling, depending on the thickness.
Look forward to pics when you can! |

Thanks. I found a similar one of eBay and the seller said that the lid was porcelain lined. I am still looking for information about it. Maybe we have found a jewel.... or maybe not.
