I've been collecting a few pieces and have learned a lot of information on this site. Thanks. I have some griddles and a fry pan which have a raised number on top of the handle and a single straight raised ridge on the bottoms, which do not go completely across the bottom. You're insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Without seeing them, it sounds like your pieces have what are called bottom gate marks, which are where the molten iron entered the mold and the excess was ground off afterwards. Most likely pre-1900, maker probably unknowable.

Thanks. That's about what I've been told about the dates but didn't have a clue about the mark on the bottom. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
