Let the Sun Cook It

It got a bit warm here today, 98° F, so I set my skillet out on the deck and let the sun do the warmup. Then ……….. why not?





A mere 4 hours later, ta-da! Not for the impatient or hungry. YMMV. The bacon does not look done in the pic but it was stiff, got up to about 170° and was good if a bit chewy. The bacon got a long head start on the dippy egg.

If you are in a hurry, some shiny will speed up the cooking considerably. A couple of panels of aluminum foil on cardboard can save hours. Just don’t light your deck on fire.
