How to Know Value of CI

Hi all. I am new to purchasing vintage CI and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on help with knowing what CI pieces are worth? When trying to get an idea by searching ebay it seems the buy it now prices are quite high and because I am new to this I havent witnessed enough of the auctions ending prices to have a good idea of the going rate on things. On these forums I saw someone mention the The book of Griswold and Wagner but I have also seen comments that the prices listed in that book are not very accurate.

Thanks

Never go by asking prices. You can search eBay "sold" listings (not just "completed") to determine an average. Yes, the guide book prices are outdated, but can give an idea of relative value differences between one size or marking variation of a pan and another. Try the eBay Search in the taskbar above. It performs such a search and allows various parameters to be pre-filled.
