Hammered Skillet ID Help

Hello,

I found this hammered #3 today. Any idea on the maker? I wasn't necessarily interested in it but the guy I bought if from said it's been sitting around and would throw it in for $5 with the #4 Griswold I bought.

Also, it is fairly silver in color. Initially I thought it was plated but the cooking surface is the same color. Thoughts?

Including a pic of the #4 I bought. Going to take a little love...

Thanks,

Adam

The hammered is unknown, but there are enough of them seen around that they have been dubbed "Hammered Unknown Ugly CI", and there are those who collect them. Although not pretty, they aren't too badly made. The undersides on the lids are pretty bad, though. $5 is about right. Saw a couple in my travels today, in fact.

Last question ( I think),

What about the finish? It has such a silvery finish I would think it's plated. But it's also the same color on the cooking surface. We're any skillets plated on the cooking surface?
