Bacon wrapped cornbread

Preheat oven to 450
Mix cornbread batter of your choice.
I used this:
2 cups self rising cornmeal
1 egg
1 1/3 cup milk or buttermilk
1/4 cup oil

Lightly warm skillet and wipe with oil or bacon grease.
Line bottom of pan with uncooked bacon and one band around the side wall of skillet.
Pour in batter and bake for 20-25 min.

First bite is good. Bacon lovers cornbread for sure. That is 12 to 16 oz. of bacon per pan. My mind is working on that 3 or 4 oz. of rendered fat that used to stay in the skillet as a tablespoon too much lard makes my cornbread bitter.
