I had the large oval pot and it had a tin top. Cleaning - eTank. but my top was in very nice shape so it was not in my eTank very long mostly to get off years of dirt.
Lets try this; https://get.google.com/albumarchive/...upKsXaST3lK9j3 |

If I remember correctly I cleaned mine with fume free oven cleaner which doesn't contain lye.

I too thought it was tin, but it has rust. Thought tin did not rust. Guess I have no choice but to put it into the etank.

Jeffrey,
Jeff, After you cleaned the tin top, did you try to season it? Whatever my is made of, it is rusted on the top. After I clean it in the etank guess I'll just apply a very think layer of oil. Wally |

I do not remember what I put on the lid, but am thinking mineral oil (food grade).
If it will be used I would season it. |

I don't recall but probably just wiped with mineral oil also or seasoned at lower temp with Crisco.
