Any Easy Way to Fix This?

I accidentally left some bacon grease in the pan too long when I was doing a re-season after cleaning the pan. I know most people would say just leave it but I'm kinda finicky about how my cast iron looks. Is there an easy way to clean this off?

Cook more bacon in it. It will even out eventually. I think that my pans look best when they have food cooking in them.

Since you're going to be doing a re-season I would use some dawn detergent and 4/0 steel wool and see if that won't remove the ugly's so to speak. Warm water will help some also.

I actually tried cooking bacon in it today and that didn't go so well. Lots of caked on burnt bits, unlike when I cook eggs which are normally pretty non-stick. And it didn't take care of my unsightly burnt parts of the pan. They are still there. I'm inclined to try the steel wool and detergent route.

I also find that I have less sticking if I start my bacon in a cold pan. That lets some of the fat render out before caramelizing the sugars.
