Default Victor #7. Time Period?

Just picked up this Victor #7 today. Insert heat ring that is wore down quite a bit.
Doesn’t look exactly like the Victor pic on this site nor the “fully marked” Victor.

A little help on age/time frame?

Thanks.

A #8 with that marking variation is in the Victor gallery (third photo) here: http://www.castironcollector.com/economy.php#victor In the table of characteristics, yours is the next to last.

Thanks Doug. I should expand my research beyond pics.

While I was doing my research, I ran across the full labeled Griswolds with the 7 on the handle upside down. Several people were selling theirs as a valuable “mistake”. Was this in fact a mistake, or just the way they did it?

Usually, those making a big deal out of it make it seem like there's only one pan like that, as if each pan was individually marked after casting. We know, of course, that it's the pattern that has the error (the 721B pattern), so every pan made from it, likely in the thousands, has it.
