10 Chef skillet

I think I got ripped off, the tag said this is a #10 skillet. It's only about as big as a #8, and doesn't even have hardly any pour spouts. It says 10 Chef on the bottom, with the weird handle I hope it's not Asian. I almost want to go demand my $15 back.

Correct, it was the seller who labeled it wrong as a No. 10 instead of 10".

These were made by BSR starting in the '70s. Lodge still makes one that looks like this but the lodge one has a modern pebbly cooking surface and is much heavier.

The "chef skillet" design is specifically made to be easier to toss food in the pan with the ol' "shake and jerk" motion instead of stirring with an utensil.

You did good.

Yep, looks pretty good to me. Wondering about that spot on the inside, though? Will that clean up okay ? Regardless, for $15, you can't go wrong. :D

It cleaned up great, I think that spot was a minor casting flaw. It's barely noticable now that it's seasoned. The surface is all swirled out from being polished smooth, very pretty.
