Fakes?

I haven’t been doing this very long but I’m pretty sure I found my first re production or fakes, whatever you want to call them.

But I’m not sure what this one is, just an ashtray with a poor attempt at the Griswold logo?

This ratty looking China? 0 was there too

There was also a fake Griswold corn & wheat stick pan that I didn’t take a picture of.

Wasn’t all a loss as I found the real deal in the same booth, and by some stroke of luck priced the same as the fakes ,$5! Picture taken after cleaning and re seasoning

The fake ashtrays don't usually have the matchbook holder. That one may be genuine and the TM and markings will sharpen up on cleaning. The skillet fakes, besides the lousy casting, usually also have a gang mold number between the heat ring and handle.
