Wagner Drip Drop

Found this at a yard sale today, at 25 dollars I paid a little more than I wanted but I don't have many lids and this one was fairly clean already as pictured. The skillet dosnt match, early american I believe, but it is in good shape too. I want to get a matching skillet so would I be looking for a Wagner or Wagner Ware?

Being your lid has a 4-digit c/n, I would say the pan that most closely matches it would have to also have a c/n, meaning it would also have the Wagner Ware Sidney -O- stylized logo.

That should be cheap and easy to find, thanks.
A #7 Wagner Ware Sidney -O- smooth bottom? Might not be that easy. 3,5,6,8 are the most common.

That unmarked #7 Wagner you have there is probably the second best era unmarked Wagner to be had (pre-Made In USA;polished).

The skillet is a Griswold Early American made by wagner correct? I also have a number 8 and it makes a great user skillet.

I agree with Doug.Took me quite awhile to find my #7 & #9 smooth bottom with the logo.Just got my 1059 about a month ago. Most of my finds come from flea markets and antique shops.Might be easier online but I enjoy the hunt.

It would be typically IDed simply as an unmarked Wagner. It could, however, have been marketed as both Wagner or Griswold using paper labels.

I finally found my #7 Wagner smooth bottom a couple months ago, thought I'd never come across one. They knew it was rare too, made me sick to pay $40 for it but I was 3 hours from home and knew I'd regret not getting it.

The #9 is rare too, I've only seen one and it was under $20 if I recall, I pounced on that.

CPorter, look for a heat rim Wagner skillet from the later 1920s as that is probably what your cover was matched with, not a later smooth bottom.

The #7 Wagner with heat ring also seems far easier to find for some reason. I've found three, two had sulfur pitting on the bottom the other one looks excellent.

Thanks for the help, Didn't realize it was that hard to find. I didn't even find much online. if the skillet is that rare how rare is the lid? Aren't lids typically harder to find? So I'm looking for a #7 heat ring, thanks.
