Well Made Lid - no maker marks or pattern numbers

I found this cast iron lid - it is very well made and seems to have been polished. I just took it out of the lye and have not yet seasoned it. It is marked 8 1/2 C (see pictures)

Any help on who made the lid and what it goes to would be great....also what era is it from?

Favorite, 1916-1934. Fits their chicken fryer/deep skillet.

Thanks Doug - You are a wealth of information. This lid came on an unmarked Chicken Fryer. Is the Chicken Fryer a Favorite as well? See other post for pictures.

I'm trying to place where I've seen that handle style before. It's not Favorite that I'm aware of.

Note the three dots on the bottom - is that some type of a makers mark?

They are some kind of identifier. Maker's mark or pattern marking. Incised marks are on the pattern; most raised marks-- letter(s), a number-- on bottoms are added at the time of casting by the molder.
