Is This Wooden Handle Skillet a “Wagner”?

Hey guys,
Picked this up during lunch. I’m thinking this is an old “Wagner” logo, but I’m not sure about the handle. Did they make one like that? Looks like an outside-ish heat ring. The “8” looks handwritten.

Whataya think? Did I get lucky?

Roger that. The only wooden handles I’ve seen have had a metal loop on the end. I was thinking “user replacement” too. All the Wagner handles I’ve seen on waffle irons, etc, had rings on them.

Wagner's wooden waffle iron handles didn't use eye bolts, they had long wood screws cast in.

This one has the screws cast in as well. I unscrewed the handle and it looks just like the way my Wagner waffle iron is made. Very interesting piece. Can’t wait to get it out of the lye. (Might have to pull it out in a couple of hours, just to see if enough crud has been loosened up to see what lies beneath!)

Edit: when I said “rings” on the Wagner waffle iron handles, I meant rings (grooves?) cut into the handles. I just re-read my original post and saw my choice of words is confusing.
