Newbie From Arkansas

Hello everyone. I am a cast iron newbie from Arkansas. I'm afraid to say that I am in no way, shape or form, a cook or chef. But recently, my mom gave me a couple of cast iron skillets that belonged to my grandmother and my wife has a skillet that belonged to her grandmother. After looking these over and doing a little research on how old the skillets are and how to restore them, I became fascinated with the fact that a person can go to a yard sale or thrift store and find something that is over 100 years old and still be used today. Once you've cleaned them up they look and perform as good as when they were new. So that is what got me interested in cast iron. In doing research on how to restore these skillets and dating them, I ran across this website which contains a wealth of information.
