Going to look at a Wagner Ware Sidney with catalogue number 1052. I have read these are HTF. How rare are these as I need to determine a fair price. Skillet appears to be in good condition, will examine when I go to look at the piece.

Thanks,
Trevor

Purchased the skillet!! No warping, skillet sits perfectly flat with no spin. No major pitting that I can see. Will clean up with OO steel wool and put a layer or two of seasoning on it.

Not really hard to find but there again a #2 usually means big bucks. A four digit (1052) list for about $100 to $125 in the BB. If its a smooth bottom and no warpage or pitting it may very well bring more. Just depends on who has it for sale. Antique shops tend to ask higher prices and of course eBay listers want an arm and leg for them.
Good luck....

After cleaning and season#1. I did notice a line under handle after cleaning, not sure if it is a#1 or line?

Seasoning question? I followed the directions on these forums baking at 350 with very little oil. Wiping with terry cloth removing almost all oil before bake. The inside has a deep black appearance yet, handle and bottom do not.

Does the black appearance come with use?? I have another skillet that I have seasoned 4 times and outside and handle are not a deep black color.
