I got these two items today at the flea. I probably paid too much but it was still a whole lot cheaper than a round of golf and not near as frustrating. I believe I have an unmarked plated Griswold #9 and an old Lodge lid-it's in the tank now but I hope it mates well to my arc and one notch pans. My question is can any of the plating be recovered and is it safe to put the Gris in the lye or should I do something else to clean it? After cleaning, will it cook the same as black iron and should I season it the same? Is there any market for plated pans like this? It obviously has the ghost 9 marking and I think I can also make out a ghost arc "V I C T O R" at 12 o'clock. Any thoughts on the lid will be appreciated as well.

One more question, was this particular line of Griswold skillets a store brand?
