Pastry Pan?

Picked this up at a flea market today. Looks somewhat like an Aebleskiver pan. I expected to see a gate mark with the 3 legs, but no. Went ahead and spent $5 for it.

Anyone know what it actually is whether it was made in the US? Also, timeframe?

there are really old versions of this pan... but I think there are also later, more modern reproductions of this one.
