That is a beauty, a # 10 is on my list For my kitchen. Maybe sometime this year I can find one local for my price.

Steven C,
I don't think Canton is too far from DFW. If you can get over there for the First Monday weekend sale you should be able to get what you are looking for at your price.

Happy hunting.

or would you prefer a First series Erie?

JMoss,
I had planned on going to canton this spring, unfortunately now I'll have to wait till fall when it's a little cooler. I had went many years ago and look forward too going again.
Also I had sent you a PM about your Dutch ovens a week or so back. It may of got lost in the shuffle.

To keep on topic of # 10 skillets I had talked to a old friend the other day and CI came up. He said he had a large one at home somewhere and look for me. From his description it's bigger than a #8. I might get lucky and get a nice vintage user.

My Favorite Piqua Ware #10 is my personal favorite skillet. Every time I get it out to use I can picture how many wonderful things must have been cooked in it over the years. By the way, I have realized that its external condition would send it to many people's cleaning tanks, but I frankly refuse to mess with it other than to wash it carefully after every use! The interior of the pan is perfect in my humble opinion, and I don't trust myself not to mess it up if I tried to refinish it!

An update - fresh from the oven. Really a #11 but still very nice. Having a lid on this size makes it really versatile

I have the exact same Wagner #10 that you pictured in post #7, KenK. Never leaves my stove top. My favorite skillet. I have a #12 Wagner, but I find it a bit too unwieldy. I'd like to find a #11 Wagner and give it a whirl.

No Sidney so a little older - Try a BSR Century #10 if you think you'd like the size of a #11 as the lid on the Century actually came to me via this and it was a perfect fit I find a #12 a little too big and heavy as well unless I can come across a Favorite Block logo #12. I saw one down in Florida over the holidays and it was as light as most #10's. The shop wanted way more than I wanted to pay but I'm on my lookout for a set. I had a #8 and it weighed in a 3 lbs. 2 oz. Warped because it was so thin as was that #12 but....

I see those #11s on ebay once in a while, but not at the prices I want to pay! I was lucky on my #10 from ebay. Paid a whole $10.50 and shipping was only about $15. For some reason I was the only bidder on it. I don't get lucky like that very often.

I've given away 3 BSR #10s. Excellent skillets, but heavier than I want to deal with.
