Griswold #9 DO

Recently picked up a smooth bottom large block #9 Griswold "834" DO. Instead of an 838 top it has a 2552 "Tite Top" cover. Does it matter?

To my surprise, inside was a 207 trivet.

I have a #6 and a #8, neither has the trivet, so I was pleased with this even though the cover is not an 838.

I seem to recall previous comments about trivets being more difficult to find. Is that correct?

The 838 the BB calls the "early flat type" lid, such as what would have come on an Erie DO. What you have sounds correct for the markings on the pot. If you ever find any Griswold trivets at an affordable price, grab them.
