Seasoning with wooden handle

I am going to be restoring this waffle maker. Will the wooden handles be OK in the oven at high temp during seasoning, or should I use a different method?

They unscrew so you can take them off for seasoning. Nice score today.

They don't seem to be screwed on. The metal going into the wood is squared. I tried and it didn't budge.

I have one in my e tank now. Handles took a gentle touch, but came off ok. Screw was covered with gunk

I had to use a penetrating oil on one of mine because the handle wouldn't budge. After sitting for a couple days, it came off relatively easily.
