I was reading an old thread when I came across a posting that mentioned making "Nanna Moorehouse’s Ginger Gems". I checked this forum and didn't see any recipe for them here, so I Googled it and found this:

Yep. That's reason enough to finish up the french roll pan and pull the rest out of storage. Love anything ginger :)
 
I'm with you, RobM! Love ginger--and I cleaned up a "no name" roll pan recently. It is an old one, I think. The pan is fairly thin metal, so I can actually handle it when it's hot! I know brand names are fashionable, but I have a nearly identical pan marked GRISWOLD ll, and it is so heavy I plan to clean it up, and (hopefully) sell it. It's not a "user" for me. Will get back to you all when I actually try the Ginger Gems recipe.
