I Think These Are Fakes. Help Please?

I'm new to collecting and learning about cast iron, though I've been admiring it for a while. Saw these at a couple antique stores. They seem like they were made to look old. Can someone please add to my observations so I better know how to identify fake pans?

This 6 has a gate mark that looks slapped on and the heat ring protrudes 1/4 inch. Something about the handle seems wrong, but I don't know what it would be.

This 8 seems WAY heavier than it should be. Otherwise I'm not sure what I think makes it a fake.

I wish I had taken more/better pictures, but still, this cannot possibly be right. Right?

Thanks!

This is how they were made in the 1800's early, early 1900's. If I see correctly, $7 for the #6 griddle and $13 for the #8 griddle, buy them. Great price.

You found a great place for really old cast iron.

The one that says Trademark, you might be able to know the maker or year made. Someone else might have more info on that one.

I think that 'trademark' one is unknown... I've seen that mark before, but never seen an identification that anyone was confident about.

For $65, that big Trademark can stay where it is.

I'm surprised those other two are not reproductions! Especially that 6, it looks too perfect, and the heat ring is ridiculous. I measured it, it sticks out exactly 1/4". I guess I'm headed back, thanks guys!

Alex A,

Griddles aren't used and abused like skillets. I have many old griddles that still have the swirl marks the finishing process. You make pancakes, heat tortillas, grilled cheese, etc in them.
