I am new to collecting but not new to cooking in cast iron. What i found today in our daughters barn was a Griswold skillet with trivet and cover. The skillet reads,
cast iron skillet 8 Griswold Erie Pa. U.S.A 704 with either a S or a 5
The trivet reads. The Griswold MFG Erie Pa. Trivet 207. The lid reads Griswold NO 8 Self basting skillet cover. Inside the lid it reads, patented Sept. 22 1825 Pat'd Feb. 10 1920 Erie Pa. U.S.A. 1048 A. The skillet is in remarkably good shape all it needs is a little cleaning up. I know it was made after 1960 because of the USA stamp, Is this a good find? Is there much value to it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
