Memorial Day Cookout

There I was with my chair and a 6 pack. Didn’t do much cookin’ but did hours of lookin’ as the small Boston Butt got smaller and smaller over that fire of maple, apple and hickory. The best part was that I actually took the time to reflect on Memorial Day and those that did die. For some reason I thought my great grandfather died in WWI, per my grandfather?

My SO is into ancestry stuff so I asked her to check. In 10 minutes she had date of death, obituary from the newspaper and death certificate. Nope, not WWI. He died two years before the war at age 44 from booze. Oh well, not Memorial Day material. Meanwhile, we did have some good pork.
