Just Curious About This Pot. Ideas?

It's 7 3/4 inch tall and 10" in diameter. No markings at all that I could find.
It's badly pitted and I'm afraid to use it having know idea what it's been used for and what's been melted in it. It may have been painted.

I would think that a soaking in a lye solution would remove any paint. Heat would also.

I worry about finding something that a reloader once owned & used to melt lead.

Get a lead tester kit at your local hardware/home improvement store. If it's safe, do reverse electrolysis on it. It should cook up a nice batch of jambalaya or fry a heap of fish.

I just re-read the dimensions. Normal e-tank cleaning. It looks bigger in the pictures

That picture is thirteen years old. Has the pot been cleaned or neglected? The pitting minor for a pot that old. A good scrubbing and several coats of lard over an open fire would seal into the pitting.
